Garbage based on one word: Plastics

I read about a reader’s response to the overflowing trash can at the new dog park.
This is an overwhelming problem for many even outside the park. How many big companies do you know that packs way too many things besides the content that goes in? Doggy doos can be used to make manure or power some power plants by producing methane...
Companies could stop over-packing their items to the next oblivion.
I find 90 per cent of the garbage produced in a regular week are all packaging material. Petro is used for many of these packages and unfortunately, I hate them.
Many die or get injured for example in Korea from these companies where they are making plastics.
Plastics, styrofoam, and many other harmful materials used for packaging and for making toys should be banned.
Who knows if there are bottled water companies putting pthalates in those plastic bottles?
I honestly cannot trust whether this Canadian system checks everything.
There have been a lot of recalls regarding plastic products and that already shows that these products aren’t good for human beings or the ecosystem.
I believe if we put bans on these products, especially for single-use products, we wouldn’t have to go through watching our streets littered with so much garbage.
I also believe there should be stronger initiatives against smokers since their butts cause a lot of fire and pollution in our waters and in the air.
Oh, and another thing, they should ban take-outs as well. What happened to the home-cooked meal these days?
