Preserving heritage

Re: “Another historic building set to fall,” The Leader, July 22.

It’s summertime. Sloths move slowly. Discovered this sad article. How old are the folks making these decisions?

Sounds like some “know-it-all” yuppies in charge.

Why was Smallville filmed in Cloverdale? Because of the look?

Why do films go to Nelson? Because in the ’70’s council had the wisdom to preserve 350 buildings. Attractive town, great for tourism.

I recommend your decision-makers drive south of the border, turn right at the Bellis Fair mall exit and drive on to downtown. Look, see all the historic buildings.

We only pass this way once. Preserve the heritage.

The grandchildren of your grandchildren will be pleased.
