A shameful shot at Canadian troops
Updated: July 07, 2009 4:33 PM
Shame on cartoonist Raeside for comparing Canadian soldiers serving their country in Afghanistan to opportunistic expatriate Michael Ignatieff, who lived outside Canada for thirty-four years and called America his country. (July 1, The Leader).
Ignatieff finally returned to Canada only because he wanted to be a political big shot before retiring and he needed Canada in order to achieve his personal ambition. His adopted country of America was apparently too big a pond for him to compete in.
Shame on Raeside also for suggesting that Prime Minister Stephen Harper would regard Canadian soldiers serving their country overseas as being on the same level of patriotism for Canada as Ignatieff.
