A large house fire gutted a home in Fleetwood Friday morning but investigators say it was accidental.
Surrey fire crews were called to the one-alarm blaze at 7765 164A St. at 10:19 a.m. Oct. 10.
There were people in the house at the time, but no one is believed to have been injured, according to Deputy Chief Gord Anderson.
A firefighter had a close call when a piece of drywall fell on his head, but Anderson says the man was treated on scene by B.C. Ambulance Service paramedics.
The fire was contained to the single residence and no other houses in the area were affected.
Investigators remained on scene well into Friday afternoon.
