Come forward, police urge driver who injured senior

Police have made a public appeal to the driver of the vehicle that injured an 83-year-old woman Wednesday night.

It happened about 6:50 pm when an 80-year-old man and his 83-yearold female companion were crossing just east of Harvie Road on 88 Avenue.

A vehicle that was traveling eastbound struck the woman knocking her to the ground.

The vehicle stopped and a Caucasian man got out and spoke with the two pedestrians.

Following their conversation, he got back in his vehicle and left the area.

The woman had an injury to her left leg was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

She is listed in stable condition in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, possibly a Chrysler product similar to a PT Cruiser is described at 25 to 30 years of age, 5'6" tall, 160 - 170 lbs with short hair, wearing sweat pants.

Traffic investigators with the Surrey Detachment are asking that the driver of the vehicle contact Const. P. Dobernigg at 604-599-0502.
