Robbery suspect caught in Surrey

A day after Langley RCMP issued a warrant for a 19-year-old wanted in connection to the violent robbery of Creative Goldsmiths, Surrey officers picked him up.

Charged with one count of robbery and two counts of assault with a weapon is 19-year-old Ellwood Bradbury of Surrey.

A 17-year-old Surrey boy was also arrested and charged with robbery.

The charges come as a result of the ongoing investigation into the robbery that took place around 1 p.m. Two men had entered the store, one of them armed with bear spray.

The employees were held in the back of the store by one of the suspects as the other used a hammer to smash a display case. Access was gained to several more display cases and over $150,000 worth of jewelry was taken, said police. Prior to fleeing two of the employees were sprayed with bear spray.

The young offender will appear in Surrey Youth Court on Dec. 2.
