81 commercial vehicles fail safety inspections
RCMP in both Langley and Surrey in conjunction with Commercial Vehicle Inspectors conducted a series of vehicle checks throughout both municipalities over the course of four days.

A four-day safety blitz in Surrey and Langley saw 81 commercial vehicles ticketed for violations ranging from poorly secured loads to bald tires.
Inspectors ordered 23 unsafe commercial vehicles off the road.
The inspections were carried out by traffic services members from the Surrey and Langley RCNP detachments with Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) inspectors.
Officers were also checking out passenger vehicles.
Tickets for failing to wear a seat belt were issued to 15 drivers of cars and other smaller vehicles.
As well, nine people were caught driving without insurance, 12 were driving without a licence and four were driving with open liquor in the vehicle.
Four 24-hour roadside suspensions were handed out for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
