A 60-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he collided with a car pulling out of a mall parking lot in the 12100 block of Nordel Way around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

The man riding the motorcycle died in hospital while the 32-year-old woman driving the car and her teenage passenger were not injured, police said.

Witness Amanda Siebert said both the car and the bike were travelling "really quickly" when the collision took place.

Surrey RCMP Traffic Services said the speeds of the vehicles are being investigated as possible contributing factors.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact the Surrey traffic section at 604-599-0502.

There was another motorcycle traffic fatality on Nordel Way a few days earlier.

Delta Police said a 55-year-old Surrey man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car near the intersection of Nordel and 116 Street about 6:40 a.m. on Friday.

Investigators say the motorcycle was westbound on Nordel when the eastbound car tried to make a left turn on to 116.

The motorcyclist died at the scene.

Nordel Way was closed for about five hours.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Delta Police at 604-946-4411.
