ShareUPDATE: Train victim was from Surrey

The young man struck and killed by an Amtrak passenger train Sunday night in North Delta was from Surrey.
Delta Police have identified Luke Kelly Davidson, 19, as the deceased.
Davidson was struck by a southbound train – en route from Vancouver to Seattle – which could have been travelling as fast as 100 km/h, police say.
He and a companion had been riding their bikes on the tracks and left them there while they explored the area on foot.
When they saw the train approaching, they attempted to retrieve the bikes.
Davidson was hit and died instantly. His companion was taken to hospital but survived.
The incident occurred directly beneath the Nordel Hill railway overpass on the B.C. Rail line that runs parallel to Highway 91 and the Alex Fraser Bridge on the south side of the Fraser River.
"The Delta Police Department is saddened by this unfortunate loss and once more
need to stress how dangerous railway tracks can be," Const. Paul Eisenzimmer said in a news release. "It is hard to judge the speed of an oncoming train. Be cautious whenever you are near train tracks."
