Grace Ogilvy, 7, sits with dad Dave during a barbecue hosted by Coast Capital Savings for the Cops for Cancer bike riders last Wednesday afternoon. Grace decided to cut her hair in honour of her friend Chris, who died from cancer two years ago.
Over the last week, Grace has raised more than $2,000 for the Cops for Cancer cause, which benefits the Canadian Cancer Society and research into curing the disease.
The local Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley bike team – made up of law enforcement personnel and emergency responders – rode throughout the region Sept. 24 to Oct. 2. The team has raised more than $132,000 so far.
