The Community Arts Council of White Rock & District Gallery Show presents a show featuring artists Patte Rust, Kari Rust and Kirsten Taylor.

Patte Rust, who grew up in Saskatchewan and has lived in Surrey for the past 40 years, paints a variety of subjects, but her favourites are landscapes, rural settings and animals. Most of her subjects for the paintings in this show are derived from her travels through Western Canada, from the coastal rainforest, the Cariboo, Rocky Mountains and through to the prairies.

Kari Rust graduated from the Emily Carr College animation department in 1993 and has worked in the commercial art industry for more than a decade before taking a break to spend time with family. The work included in this show is an exploration of design and composition, inspired mainly by the natural world.

Taylor is an artist and art teacher currently residing in Vancouver. She has received a Bachelor of Art degree through Emily Carr University and a Bachelor of Art Education degree from UBC.

Through drawing, illustration, printmaking and painting, her work explores the interaction of natural and graphic forms.

The show runs Aug. 6-29 at the gallery located at #90 - 1959 152 St. An opening reception will be held Aug. 6, 7-9 p.m., when the artists will be in attendance. For further information, call 604-536-8333.
