He deserves a break
James Harper, a Surrey McDonald’s franchisee, was recently selected to receive a 2009 Franchisee Award from McDonald’s Canada.
Thee award is presented to six franchisees across Western Canada who have excelled in their contribution to McDonald’s and their local communities through efforts in advertising, public relations and community programs.
Harper has proven to be a leader in the Surrey community while successfully operating seven local McDonald’s restaurants.
Harper began his career with McDonald’s as a crew person 34 years ago.
Over the past three decades, James has transitioned from area supervisor to various training and operations positions to the head of Worldwide Training, Learning and Development for McDonald’s Corporation.
He has been the recipient of various McDonald’s awards including Manager of the Year on three occasions, the Maple Lead Award twice, the President’s Award, the Golden Arch Partner Award, as well as the Outstanding Restaurant Award.
