Celebrate Oktoberfest in Surrey

Oktoberfest is coming to Surrey on Oct. 17 at The Compass Point Inn.
The festival takes place from 4:30-9:30 p.m. and features an evening of beer tasting thanks to Just Here For The Beer Ltd., a company which owns and coordinates several major beer tasting events.
“The venue is in a perfect location,” states Rick Mohabir, co-owner of the company. “Surrey has a huge community of beer enthusiasts and the hotel is right beside the SkyTrain station making convenient for people across the Lower Mainland.”
One of the goals of the event was to bring a downtown-style festival into Surrey.
“Our events have focused on venues in Vancouver but a lot of our clientele is based in Surrey,” says Colin Jack, the president and co-owner of the company. “Both Jakes Steakhouse and Amber Jack’s Tap House have a great selection of beer available in bottles and on tap. We want to help showcase the products that the hotel features on a regular basis.”
The tickets are $45 and it includes beer samples, food, a live band, dancers and a souvenir mug. The “all-inclusive” price will allow patrons to taste several different beers from 20 exhibitors who will pour up to 100 different types of beer.
