Entrepreneurial finalist

A Surrey business owner’s commitment to the environment has won him a spot in the finals for a 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Charlie Costa’s Wireless Advocates provides consultation, wireless phones and accessories to small businesses and individuals. Wireless Advocates has placed cell phone recycling bins in 20 locations across Canada with 5,000 phones recycled to date. It is negotiations with the provincial and federal governments to increase its recycling program.
Costa is nominated in the high-tech category.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Awards recognize graduates of the Douglas College Self Employment Program. This year, 20 finalists are up for awards in eight categories. The celebrations take place during Small
Business Week at the Executive Plaza Hotel in Coquitlam on Oct 22. Over 400 program alumni and special guests are attending.
