Parents need trustees’ help

Open letter to Surrey school trustees.
I am contacting you regarding my concerns on the H1N1 vaccine.
Since there is so much conflicting information out there, I have been working rigorously to help people find the truth in this. Based on the overwhelming amounts that I have read, seen, heard and witnessed, I believe we should be working to make Surrey a vaccine-free zone.
Parents are being asked to make a decision regarding the vaccine for themselves and their children, but are not being given all the important information.
The doctors who have done the research are all saying the swine flu is a mild version of the regular flu, and that the vaccine will do more harm than good. Many are also unaware there are multiple lawsuits against the World Health Organization over this matter.
I find it rather discomforting that it seems to be medical professionals versus the media and pharmaceutical companies.
(Editor’s note: While it is up to individual doctors to determine what is best for each patient, their BC Medical Association recommends the H1N1 vaccine for all residents.)
I felt it important to forward this information to you, especially because they are planning on vaccinating kids through the school – a very unsafe and hazardous course of action. I am sure many parents would love the opportunity to speak with you further regarding this, as well as administrators, staff or interested students.
Have you checked with council? Can you not be held liable for negative health consequences that surface as a result of endorsing the administration of the vaccines?
This is a time for clear consideration of the facts from both sides, and definitely something that should not be rushed into.
If it’s not the school board’s duty to inform the public with accurate information, then whose? The media has clearly chosen a fairly one-sided stance on the matter.
