We must undo past decisions

As I was out driving in downtown White Rock today, I found it to be a nightmare of traffic. It isn’t any wonder, with single-lane traffic through the centre of the city suitable for only a small town.
It doesn’t seem unreasonable to blame this situation on recent development. The pleas of the average citizen directed at the then-council against highrises were ignored. Now we are paying for it.
Many forget that when plans were first presented, police were called in for crowd control and a fire engine was standing by outside.
What bothers me is two more highrises and a possible 14-storey building at the end of the block on Johnston Road are in the works. I can imagine just what the traffic will look like when this takes place.
There is little one can do about it, but I am wondering if it would be possible to revoke the zoning granted. Probably not, but I can’t think of any other solution.
Increased traffic was a major objection to this project, but it did not stop council from approving it.
It may not be a big problem now, but my bet is it soon will be.
