Traffic calming is getting out of hand. City of Surrey has planted lovely plants – which resemble weeds – in the median on King George just south of 24 Avenue.

They have thoughtfully planted them right by the southbound turning lane – used when you are going north to turn south.

This effectively allows the driver to guess whether or not there is oncoming traffic. You can eventually see the traffic as it roars by you at the legal speed limit.

I have passed this on to Surrey, and received a response stating appropriate action will be taken.

I can only assume, since nothing has been done, this is a traffic-calming measure. One can only assume further obstructions to vision are planned as a measure to thin out the driving public.
