Recently, I received a very polite notice from the City of White Rock operations department, informing me about future sidewalk construction adjacent to my home.
Later, and by appointment, a member of the city’s engineering division arrived to explain in detail the scope of the upcoming work. He was prompt, extremely courteous, sensitive to my concerns and able to answer all queries raised. My experience is in sharp contrast to that hateful statement about city staff delivered at the all-candidates forum on Aug. 20 by an individual aiming to become a city councillor.
