Re: PAN online Question of the Week, June 18-25.
It was very satisfying to enter my vote on this week’s “Do you use the public library?” poll.
My daughter and myself read about four to five books a week from the library. If we had to purchase these books, I think we would both be bankrupt by now…
We tend to read many different series, and therefore start at the beginning and work our way through to the end of the series. This may cause the library to make an interlibrary loan for us. The interlibrary loan books that we have received have been throughout Canada, and with great “glee” we occasionally find some have come to us from as far as the East Coast.
The staff at the library are truly kind, helpful and always ready to make a search for us. The variety of books that are available is immense; especially with the interlibrary loans, the choice of books is Canada-wide.
My grandchildren also use the library, not only for their numerous amounts of books, but the programs that are offered. When they were younger, they participated in all the children’s programs, and now they are looking forward to joining the summer reading club once again.
On behalf of myself and my daughter, I would love to thank all the library staff in South Surrey Ocean Park and the interlibrary-loan staff in Guildford for their help and obvious love of their job to bring the world to our feet.
