White Rock police are looking for a driver after two pedestrians were struck by a speeding vehicle Friday night.
A 20-year-old man was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in critical condition, while a 22-year-old man was taken to Peace Arch Hospital to undergo surgery on a broken leg.
The men were attempting to cross North Bluff Road (16 Avenue) at Kent Street, when a vehicle described as a black or dark colored Mazda – with possibly a tinted rear windshield and chrome wheels – struck them at about 11:45, police say.
The vehicle left the scene eastbound "at a high rate of speed," possibly with damage to its windshield and passenger-side headlight, according to police. The vehicle is also described as missing its passenger-side mirror.
Anyone with information is asked to call White Rock RCMP at 604-531-5527, or Crimestoppers at 604-669-8477.
