White Rock RCMP are reminding parents to talk to their children about what to do around strangers, following an incident Sept. 18.
According to police, a young girl was approached by a male as she walked home from school Friday. Police did not release any other details of the incident, and investigation is ongoing.
Cpl. Mike Williams said in a news release that parents should be "extra vigilant and aware of your child's safety."
He encouraged having discussions regarding talking to strangers and what to do if approached by strangers. As well, children should be told how to be aware of their surroundings and to report any unusual circumstances to school officials and their family, Williams said.
