Police are looking for a shaggy-haired youth in connection with a smashed window at a South Surrey hair salon.
The damage took place at Great Clips for Hair, 1616 152 St., around noon Thursday (Oct. 22).
Witnesses report a teenager "chest-bumped" the salon's plate-glass window, then fled. A customer gave pursuit, but was unable to catch the teen.
Police believe the damage may have been the result of a prank gone awry.
Video surveillance footage from area businesses will be viewed in an effort to locate the teen responsible. He is described as a 13- to 15-year-old Caucasian; he was wearing a turquoise jacket.
Police also plan to follow up with local schools as part of the investigation.
"There's a good chance the suspect will be identified," said Const. Kenn Meglic.
He encouraged the teen to take responsibility for his actions.
"It's in his best interest to come forward and talk to us."
