There were no injuries in two recent structure fires on the Peninsula.
One individual escaped unscathed after a blaze broke out in the basement of a two-storey home in the 17800-block of 20 Avenue Monday.
The fire was reported just after midnight. It's believed it was sparked by a cigarette.
The cause of an Aug. 9 fire in the 12700-block of Parkway Drive is also not suspicious. Const. Kenn Meglic said crews were called just before 7:30 a.m. after a smoke detector alerted a neighbour and the home's resident flames coming from the garage.
It's believed oil rags used in wood-staining somehow ignited. The garage's roof and door were damaged, as well as some furniture.
