Police tracking a border jumper early Wednesday did not get their man.

U.S. Border Patrol officers alerted RCMP to a suspicious male seen crossing into Canada near 0 Avenue and 172 Street around 4:45 a.m. July 22.

A foot pursuit ensued, to the area of 8 Avenue and King George Highway, at which point a police dog team was enlisted. Unfortunately, the track was lost.

Police are looking for an Hispanic male in connection with the incident. The suspect was wearing a purple jersey bearing the number '87.'
