One woman was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after the black Nissan sports car she was driving crashed through a stone wall in the 15900-block of 24 Avenue.
The crash occurred just after 7:30 a.m. at the north entrance to the South Surrey Wal-Mart. The car had been eastbound on 24 Avenue, attempting a right-turn into the parking lot.
Ian Clarke had just started work across the street when he heard the impact.
He ran across 24th to find the Nissan nose-first into the stonework. It had significant front-end damage.
The driver, a woman Clarke estimated to be in her late 20s, was “visibly shaking,” but conscious and coherent.
“She knew what had happened. She basically said she took the corner too fast,” he said.
Another man who also ran to the scene helped stabilize the woman’s neck until emergency crews arrived, Clarke said.
Police are investigating.
