Tour action sure to thrill
The 30th annual Tour de White Rock kicks off this Friday.

Don’t miss all the excitement and action at the 30th annual Tour de White Rock.
This three-day cycling event begins this Friday, July 17 with the exciting and grueling Hill Climb starting at 7 p.m. at Buena Vista and Oxford Street.
On Saturday, July 18 the high-speed action of the Criterium starts at 4 p.m. at the corner of Johnston Road and Prospect Avenue.
Experience the thrill of watching cyclists take on one of the toughest road racing circuits in North America at the Road Race on Sunday, July 19 at 10 a.m. on Marine Drive.
Our sensational summer samplers are a fun way to meet new friends or challenge yourself to learn something new.
These one-day workshops continue throughout the summer and focus on a variety of topics such as arts and crafts, health, the outdoors, food, travel and adventure.
On Wednesday, July 29 join Dr.Vinnie Dhillon, a naturopathic physician, to learn about the natural approach to treating arthritis and muscle aches, and discover herbs and foods that act against the cause of pain and inflammation.
Monday, July 27, join instructor Estelle Bogoch for the informative summer sampler – Weeds, Weeds, and More Weeds. Learn about common garden and container weeds, discover valuable uses for them plus how to control weeds organically and easily.

The Abbotsford International Air Show is a must-see for all aircraft enthusiasts.
Leave your car behind and join us Friday, Aug. 7 on the new minibus. View the aircraft on the ground in the morning and then watch them take flight in the afternoon. The bus departs at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 4 p.m.

Be a pet vet. White Rock Leisure Services is looking for volunteers to help at the Teddy Bear Picnic, part of the Spirit of the Sea Festival on Saturday, Aug. 1. Opportunities include teddy bear doctor, helping with crafts and leading games.

It may be the summer but things don’t slow down at the centre. A number of activity groups continue to meet during the summer, including snooker. Snooker players are invited to drop down Monday-Friday (regular office hours) for a friendly game. Ladies-only snooker is held every Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to noon and all ladies are welcome.
Keep active this summer by enjoying four days of reconnecting with yourself at one of our summer yoga camps.
Enjoy one hour and 45 minutes of yoga with instructor Tanesa Kiso, followed by light refreshments and a what, why, where and who cares discussion and exploration of the Chakras.
The next session runs 9:30-11:45 a.m., Monday-Thursday, at the White Rock Community Centre starting July 20.

The City of White Rock Waterfront Concert Series takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4 p.m. during July and August on the boardwalk in front of the museum.
