Dame, villain, dwarfs sought

There is nothing like a dame – particularly when you’re looking to cast a pantomime.
The role of Dame for White Rock Players Club’s Christmas pantomime – which is traditionally played by a man – is just one of many male roles, including the villain and decidedly un-tiny dwarfs, yet to be cast.
Final auditions for the show will be held at the Coast Capital Playhouse, 1532 Johnston Rd. this Sunday, 2-7 p.m.
According to show producer Geoff Giffin, the show is the ideal opportunity for men who enjoy wearing tights and being in the spotlight, have a silly sense of humour and want to spend much of November and December surrounded by actresses.
“So far the auditions have been a great success,” Giffin said. “We have had more than 60 people come out but we still need more men.”
