Surrey’s Sangjung Lee was one of 65 students across Canada to receive a scholarship through Wal-Mart Canada’s associate scholarships program.
Lee – whose mother, Nanho, works in the bakery of the South Surrey Wal-Mart Supercentre – was awarded $2,000 for post-secondary education. He plans on studying science at UBC. Nanho was excited to hear her son was a recipient.
“Receiving this scholarship has helped me realize that working hard does indeed have its benefits,” she said.
