The Langley Chiefs let a valuable point slip away as they blew a two-goal lead in the latter half of the third period before falling 4-3 in overtime to the Merritt Centennials.
The game was played on Friday night at the Nicola Valley Arena and was the front end of a home-and-home series which wrapped up with a 6-3 Chiefs win at the Langley Events Centre the next night.
In the first game, Brandon Thompson and Tim Daly scored less than a minute apart in the second period to erase a 1-0 Centennials lead.
Dennis Robertson pushed the advantage to two goals midway through the third, but Dustin Johnson tallied twice to force overtime and then Daniel Chang scored the winner just a dozen seconds into overtime.
Andrew Walsh made 39 saves in the defeat for Langley.
But on Saturday night it was the Chiefs turn to rally for the victory.
The visiting Centennials led 3-2 going into the latter stages of the second period, but Thompson tied the score with just 72 seconds to go in the middle frame.
And the third period was all Langley as Beck and Jordan Sims scored early 1:27 apart in the first three minutes. Beck sealed the win with a late goal.
Both Beck and Sims finished with three points.
And Walsh needed to make just 19 saves for the win.
The Chiefs, who sit tied for third in the Coastal Conference with 31 points as the season nears the midway point, have a busy stretch, playing three games in three nights, all on home ice.
On Thursday, the Westside Warriors are at the LEC for an 8:30 p.m. face-off.
Langley hosts the Burnaby Express on Friday, while the Vernon Vipers — who are riding a 17-game winning streak — are in town on Saturday.
Both of those games are 7 p.m. face-offs.
