Visiting Vees dump Chiefs
Langley Chiefs goaltender Andrew Walsh stretches to block the puck from crossing the goal-line with his arm during Saturday night’s hockey game against the Penticton Vees. The Vees won both ends of a home-and-home series, 7-2 in Penticton on Friday and then 2-1 on Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.

One night after allowing a season-high in goals against, the Langley Chiefs tightened things up, dropping from seven goals surrendered to two.
But unfortunately for the junior A hockey club, their offence dried up in both contests as they dropped a pair of decisions to the Penticton Vees.
The two teams squared off in a home-and-home series.
And the Vees drew first blood, connecting four times on the power play to down the Chiefs 7-2 on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
The Chiefs found themselves down 4-0 at the intermission and 6-1 after 40 minutes. The teams traded goals in the third.
Matt Cronin and Ryan Bakken had the Chiefs’ markers.
Garrett Milan and Jake Johnson scored twice apiece for the home side, while Bo Dolan and Joey Holka had one goal each. Denver Manderson had a three-point night with a goal and two assists.
And on Saturday night, the teams made their way to Langley, where the Chiefs put up a much better fight, limiting one of the BCHL’s most potent offences to just two goals.
Unfortunately for the home side, Alex Szczechura’s power-play goals with just under three minutes remaining snapped a 1-1 tie and gave the Vees a 2-1 victory.
Penticton’s Logan Johnstone and Tim Daly had traded first period goals.
Andrew Walsh bounced back from getting yanked the night before to stop 27 of the 29 Penticton shots.
