Nathan Flint returned the opening kick-off 30 yards for a touchdown and the Langley Stallions were on their way, galloping to a 16-0 shut-out victory over the South Delta Rams in flag football action.
Flint would add two more scores along the ground, thanks in large part to the blocking off Chayce Fryer-Dolton and Caydon Beck-Boreson, on the first, and Ethan Levesque and Tyson Van Eyk, on the second.
The team’s final TD came on a flashy 35-yard run from Haydn Stomperud, who was set free by a devastating block from Connor Willdey.
Defensively, the Stallions were all over the Rams.
Haiden Horan led the inspired group of Kevin Hollowink, Dominic Beltrame and Trent Davies, who all had multiple takedowns.
And the trio of Jack Wilson, Liam Bennett and Christian Simunac were effective with their blitzing and aggressive play.
Anthony Beltrame also had a solid game, as he stepped in to play centre.
In other scores, the Langley Broncos improved to 3-1 with a 22-0 win over the South Delta Rams White in atom action.
Langley’s other atom team, the Colts, was not as fortunate, losing 38-16 to the South Delta Rams Green. The loss leaves the Colts with a 3-1 record.
In peewee action, the Langley Mavericks scored a 24-8 win over the Coquitlam Wildcats, while in a battle of unbeaten teams, the Langley Cowboys fell 32-6 to the South Delta Rams.
Both Langley teams are now 3-1.
The Langley bantam Mustangs saw their record fall to 2-2 after a 26-17 loss to the Victoria Spartans.
