Chiefs add veteran defenceman

Already boasting a solid defensive corps, the Langley Chiefs have added some veteran depth to their blue-line.
The junior A hockey club acquired Cloverdale's Colten Hayes from the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The Chiefs give up future considerations for the 6-3, 200-pound defenceman, who has played some time on the wing.
"He is a solid d-man who will help in all aspects of the game," said Langley associate coach and associate general manager Barry Wolff.
Hayes had one goal and three assists in the first five games of this hockey season for the Dragons.
Last year in Drumheller, the 19-year-old Hayes had three goals and nine assists, plus 157 penalty minutes in 57 games.
While this will be his first time playing for the Chiefs, Hayes should be familiar with playing in the Langley Events Centre.
This past summer, he was a member of the Langley Junior Thunder lacrosse squad.
