Keegan Bruce scored the overtime winner as the Aldergrove Kodiaks doused the Ridge Meadows Flames 3-2 on Friday night at Maple Ridge's Planet Ice.

The Kodiaks had trailed the junior B hockey game 2-1 heading into the third period, but Eric McEwan pulled the visiting Aldergrove squad on even terms with a goal early in the frame.

Aldergrove's Chase Shymkiw had opened the scoring late in the first before the Flames potted a pair behind Kodiaks' keeper Riley Carriere 2:22 apart in the second period.

The Kodiaks out-shot the Flames 31-20, including the only three shots of the overtime.

Aldergrove, 2-0-0 on the season, is back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 9) when they host the Abbotsford Pilots. Game time is 7:15 p.m. at the Aldergrove Arena.
