The Aldergrove Kodiaks exacted a measure of revenge on Wednesday night, walloping the Port Moody Black Panthers 7-1.

The game, played at the Aldergrove Arena, was the season opener for the two clubs as the Pacific International Junior Hockey League began play on the 2009-10 campaign.

The Black Panthers had ended the Kodiaks season last year, winning the best-of-seven playoff series 4-3.

But on Wednesday, Riley Carriere stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced in back-stopping the Kodiaks to the win.

The offence was paced by the trio of Travis Gorman, two goals and one assist, and Keegan Bruce and Cody, who each had a goal and two assists.

Thomas Witowich, Tyson Solotki and Colton Precourt had the other Kodiak tallies.
