Django Lovett captured the silver medal in the high jump at the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.

Lovett, a 17-year-old who is entering Grade 12 at Brookswood Secondary when school begins in less than two weeks, cleared 2.11m to place second behind Paul Little, a 20-year-old from Vancouver.

Lovett is the two-time defending B.C. high school provincial champion in the high jump.

This is just the latest in a busy summer for Lovett.

He also represented Canada earlier this summer in Italy, where he captured the bronze medal at the world youth championships and he won gold at the Canadian youth legion track and field championships in Quebec.

Lovett also holds the Canadian youth record in the event, having cleared 2.17m at a meet back in July.
