The Township of Langley fire department softball team earned the bronze medal at the World Police and Fire Games.
Playing their games at fields in Surrey and Burnaby, the team placed third out of the 23 teams competing.
“We were so pleased with our team’s effort,” said team manager Russ Jenkins. “It was a great way to bring everyone together, and a tremendous amount of fun.”
The squad enjoyed their first experience at the Games so much that they are planning on fundraising over the next two years to prepare for the 2011 Games in New York.
