The Langley G-Force were definitely a force over the weekend as the peewee C girls’ fastball team captured the bronze medal.

The squad was in Cloverdale for the three-day tournament, which wrapped up on Sunday.

Langley went 3-1 in the round robin, earning the sixth seed for the playoffs.

Playing the third-seed Houston Valleycats in the playoff opener, the G-Force played their strongest game of the tournament, shutting down their opponent 5-0.

Next up was the Ridge Meadows Heat, in what was Langley’s fourth game of the day.

The team battled hard, but ultimately wilted 10-2 against the Heat.

The defeat put the G-Force in must-win mode for the rest of the tournament in the double-knockout format.

Playing their local rivals, the Cloverdale Fury, on Sunday, the G-Force tamed the Fury 10-2.

That set up a match against the Penticton Power, with the winner guaranteed to finish no worse than third.

The teams were tied at two runs apiece after three innings, before the G-Force broke the game wide open, downing the Power 8-2.

Facing the Fleetwood Thunder in the semifinals, the game was a back-and-forth affair, but Fleetwood scored twice in their last at-bats to prevail 6-5.

During round robin play, the G-Force beat Penticton 10-6, hammered the Vancouver Westside Storm 16-1 and then edged Houston 6-5, winning the game on a home run with the final at-bat.

The team’s lone loss in the round robin was 10-7 against Fleetwood.

The G-Force finished the season with a 40-12 record and were second in both the league playoffs and the district championships.

The team also had gold and bronze medal finishes at a pair of tournaments.

The G-Force girls are Kelsey Lescisin, Allison Wiens, Alyssa Brown, Devan Cosens, Kianna Komorowski, Melina Christopherson, Ashley Kazakoff, Bree Ramsey,
