Rude response

Editor: A local cab company states that is is reliable and committed to its customers.
I could argue that point after my call to them this past Saturday. My friends and I were out celebrating two girlfriends’ 30th birthdays. A good time was had by all.
But when the festivities came to an end at 4 a.m. for us, as responsible adults we called for a cab to come pick us up in Fort Langley.
As I politely asked for a cab to come to the address I was at, I was blatantly cut off by the dispatcher, who yelled at me “What the hell do you need a cab for a 4 in the morning? Don’t you know how busy we are?”
I was so taken aback that I told him that this was ridiculous for him to treat me this way. They do offer 24/7 service.
The rudeness did not end there. He told me to phone another cab company and hung up on me. I called him back to ask his name and to tell him that I will be calling the manager, and he hung up again on me.
All this happened because I phoned to use the service that they provide — 24/7. My friends were all stunned, as they could all hear him yelling.
There is so much talk of enforcing drinking and driving; and we were doing exactly what is right and responsible by calling a cab. To be treated this way by a business, was so unprofessional and unreal that I cannot believe they get away with this.
I did phone the manager later, and all I got from him was agreement that this was wrong, and that he would “take note of it.” There was no apology or anything else offered.
I’m completely angry with this company and will forever boycott it, and plan to get others to follow.
