Times cartoonist responds

I seem to have stirred the pot a little with my Michael Jackson cartoon. My intent was not to be insulting, but to make people take a good hard look at who they were idolizing. At one time Michael Jackson was the King of Pop.
But let’s face the truth here. The man was, and still is, even after his death, surrounded by controversy. He did some things that were just not acceptable. But that’s show biz I guess. Any regular Joe would have been thrown in jail or run out of town. My cartoon was more of a portrait of the man than a caricature. Go look on the global website and you will see the photos that I based my cartoon on. I know I was shocked. He went from normal to freakish.
Michael Jackson died and that sucks. The man was a musical genius, and I still respect what he did. I am sorry if I insulted anyone, but the cartoons are not going to please everyone. Blair
