Editor: As proud as Langley City appears to be over its zero debt, one might question upon whose backs was this achieved?
Maybe “backs” is the wrong word — more like shocks, struts and springs. It appears Langley City has totally neglected the driving public and spent zilch on road upkeep.
I have lived in both Langleys and cannot remember worse road surfaces in the past 38 years — in particular, the 208 Street cowpath from 48 Avenue south, until it mercifully hits Langley Township’s blacktop.
Another example is 56 Avenue east, which is not much better.
If there are any proponents still out there for amalgamation, please — not until the City upgrades the roadways.
