City ignores ‘average citizens’
Editor: I have expressed my views and concerns to Langley City Hall and council on numerous occasions. But they always seem to fall on deaf ears.
This council doesn’t care about the average citizen’s concerns. The filth of Langley City and the crime in this city should be of major concern to all members of council.
They don’t mind raising your taxes to fund their little projects, but in the next breath they tell you that services will have to be cut, as they board a plane to some municipal function somewhere in North America, at taxpayers’ expense.
The purpose of this taxpayer- paid holiday is to study. It’s the same old garbage that the previous council went the term before to study, but yet nothing changes.
With all of the severe beatings and crime sprees in Langley City making the TV news and the newspapers lately, you would think that some member from council would step forward and explain to the taxpayers as to what council was proposing to do about it.
But they all hide like ostriches with their heads in the sand. No one from council has the nerve to be a leader.
This council has to go when the next municipal election is held in the fall. There isn’t one member of council that puts the interest of the taxpayers first.
They all have their special little interest groups that they put first. Money is wasted on City Park ball fields and the planting of flowers, but yet they can’t hire more police or clean the garbage from the streets.
But we can build a homeless shelter, and attract more of them here. When is this council going to wake up and listen to the taxpayers of the City, who actually pay their wages.
B. Peck,
Langley
