No shortage of drinking drivers in Langley

It appears catching drunk drivers in Langley is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
Langley RCMP were out again this past weekend, catching 14 impaired drivers in 24 hours between Friday and Saturday.
Four 24-hour driving suspensions and one 12-hour suspension were handed out with nine people possibly facing charges of impaired driving.
Two investigations started because the driver refused a breathalyser.
Langley officers set up a roadblock but other drunks were caught because they were speeding, making illegal U-turns or other traffic violations, said Cpl. Holly Marks.
“We are hammering impaired drivers in Langley. We see drinking and driving as a high priority. We had a very high fatality rate last year and a number of them were alcohol related,” said Marks.
Two drivers are facing charges of driving while prohibited. Langley RCMP have been out in force, catching drunk drivers and will continue to use roadblocks and other tactics day and night.
