Bear cubs, river otters, raccoons and even a baby cougar are asking you to take A Walk on the Wild Side on Sunday, Oct. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. in Campbell Valley Park.

It’s the first annual Walk-a-thon to raise money for Critter Care wildlife rehabilitation centre which takes in injured and orphaned wildlife.

Currently, Andre, the orphaned cougar cub, is being cared for at Critter Care until it is ready to go to its permanent home at a big cat sanctuary in the States.

Two bear cubs will be released back into the wild in early spring. Dogs on leashes are welcome for the four km walk, which starts at the south entrance, off 8 Avenue.

Registration fee is $5 per walker. Pre-registration required. Deadline is Sept. 24. Call Elaine at 604-530-6840 or e-mail NIKE11@telus.net.
