A wide range of performers will present a benefit concert on Saturday evening in Aldergrove, to provide food hampers for young people on dialysis.
Many of the young people on hemodialysis are in financial need, living on a meagre disability income and struggling to pay for food and rent.
Food banks are unable to supply the more expensive food that hemodialysis patients require.
The concert features Andrea & Amaris, the young female duo who will also be featured in concert at the 2010 Olympics.
Featured soloists include Laurie Trayer, Brooklyn Gerber, Victoria Lamberton and ensembles include Skyward, Keepers of the Faith, Ricardo & Andrea Gamero, Trio of Randy, Brian and Teresa, and Kelly-Ann Melnyshenko & Friends.
The concert on Jan. 30, 7:30 p.m., takes place at Aldergrove Seventh-day Adventist Church, 26245 28 Ave. Guests are asked to bring non-perishable food for the hampers.
A free will offering will also be taken.
DVD recordings of the concert will be sold for $15 each to provide funds for future needs.
