Aviation buffs and classic film fans alike are invited to pull up a lawn chair this Saturday evening, Oct. 3, for a Harvest Moon Movie Night.
The film night, put on by the Canadian Museum of Flight, will be held either outside (weather permitting) or inside the museum’s warm hangar.
Featured will be the cult classic aviation film Zero Hour, which was the inspiration behind the outrageous 1980 comedy Airplane!
With its chest-clutching suspense and predictable dialogue, many consider Zero Hour to be funnier than the parody.
It stars Dana Andrews as the traumatized WW2 Spitfire pilot, turned reluctant DC-4 passenger, turned even more reluctant DC-4 pilot. Langley tower will be instructed to “clear the field.”
Beer, wine, popcorn, hot dogs and treats from an old fashioned candy counter will be offered — but it’s strongly recommended that you do not order the fish!
Admission is by donation with a $5 minimum per person.
The Canadian Museum of Flight is located at Langley Regional Airport, 5333 216 St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the first movie beginning at 7 p.m. For more information, contact the museum at 604-532-0035.
