Februarys debut disc drops Sept. 22

For the Februarys, it’s all riding on a day in September.
That’s because Tuesday, Sept. 22 is the day the Langley band will release its debut full-length album, We’ll Find Our Own Way Home, under the Wax Records (formerly Wind Up Records) label.
The Februarys, comprised of singer/songwriter Lucas Lawrence, lead guitarist Matthew Gibson, bass player Brodie Tavares and Matthew Bender on drums, formed in 2004 and quickly began touring back and forth across the country, hitting the small towns and big cities with equal force.
A line from the first single, Rock N Roll’s Enemy, gives the disc its title. The band itself, meanwhile, was named for the Lower Mainland’s bleakest 28 days, because, its members have said, they liken themselves to the light in that darkness.
“We’re looking to give people a hopeful feeling,” said Lawrence.
“For us, having the listener relate to our lyrics is the most important thing about music. Otherwise, you’re just exercising your muscles.”
