Flag Stop
The 16-member Fort Langley Artists Group (FLAG) presents its second show of the 2009 season, Artists’ Choice at the Flagstop Gallery in the Heritage CN Train Station (on the corner of Glover Road and Mavis Avenue in Fort Langley) until July 26.
The gallery is hosted by at least one artist and is open Saturday, Sundays and holiday Mondays from noon to 4 p.m.
Arts Grants
Funding assistance applications from cultural organizations that operate region-wide programs and services will be accepted by Metro Vancouver until July 24, 2009.
Metro Vancouver provides cultural operating grants to major metropolitan arts groups that serve all Lower Mainland residents.
Specifically ineligible from regional funding are religious, ethnic, social service or sports organizations, local art institutions whose mandate is to serve the needs of their particular communities, universities, community colleges and other educational institutions, community centres and civic departments or branches.
The 2009 application form can be downloaded from www.metrovancouver.org, or requested by e-mailing judy.robertson@metrovancouver.org, or calling 604-432-6205.
Completed applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. Friday, July 24 to: Judy Robertson Cultural Grants, Metro Vancouver 4330 Kingsway Burnaby, B.C. V5H 4G8.
Alive & Picking
Arts Alive 2009 is currently accepting applications for its 16th annual art festival happening Saturday, August 15, 2009. Space is limited.
