The Terry Fox Run in Langley City needs a run organizer.

Without a volunteer emerging, the annual event runs the risk of being cancelled.

Each year, the Terry Fox Run is held in communities across B.C., Canada, and around the world. It continues the legacy and work of Terry Fox, who in 1980 embarked on a run across Canada — the Marathon of Hope — to raise money for cancer research.

The organizer pieces together the final details of the event. Responsibilities of the organizer include obtaining a location for the run, recruiting volunteers, as well as overseeing the pre and post-event execution.

The Terry Fox Foundation gives over 87 cents of every dollar raised to cancer research.

Anyone interested can e-mail the foundation at bcyukon@terryfoxrun, or call 604-464-2666.
