Border’s future on agenda

The future of the Aldergrove border crossing will be on the agenda, as Kim Scoville, District Director of the Pacific Highway District for the Canada Border Services Agency,speaks to the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce at its dinner meeting Tuesday.
The meeting takes place Oct. 20 at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre.
“We are extremely pleased to have Mr. Scoville as our October speaker,” says chamber president Roberto Farina. “The Aldergrove border crossing is a huge topic for Langley commerce. Mr. Scoville will give us an update on the crossing as well as an overview on how the Olympic traffic will be facilitated. Both are very timely subjects for the Langley business community.”
Networking and registration is from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the keynote address by Scoville.

Scoville has 25 years experience as a peace officer with the Canada Border Services Agency. He began his career as a customs officer at Vancouver International Airport and has held progressively more senior positions within the organization, including time as a Criminal Investigator, Customs Superintendent, Chief of Operations (Vancouver International Airport and Metro Vancouver’s Marine Operations) and Director of Program and Communications. As director, he is responsible for all aspects of port of entry operations at the major land border crossings in the Greater Vancouver area — Boundary Bay, Douglas-Peace Arch, Pacific Highway, Aldergrove and Huntingdon.
