About Us

The Langley Times was established in 1981 and is part of Black Press Ltd. It publishes each Wednesday and Friday and is delivered to homes in Langley City, Langley Township and part of Cloverdale. The community served by The Times is a fast-growing area of the Lower Fraser Valley. Langley is the commercial hub for a wide trading area and has numerous large and small retailers and a large regional shopping mall, Willowbrook Shopping Centre. Much of Langley is agricultural and major sectors of agriculture include greenhouse, equestrian, dairy, chicken and a wide variety of specialty farm crops. Langley has become a major transportation and warehousing hub in recent years, with many trucking firms locating in North Langley and Gloucester, which are both adjacent to Highway 1. It has many recreational amenities. Downtown Langley City has undergone extensive revitalization and is becoming a magnet for tourists. It is home to the Cascades Casino and Convention Centre. Langley City hosts the annual Good Times Cruise-In car show each September, which attacts upwards of 100,000 visitors. Other residential areas of Langley include Walnut Grove, Brookswood, Willoughby, Murrayville, Fort Langley (where B.C. first came into existence in 1858), and Aldergrove. Langley has grown steadily over the years and is on track for strong growth in ther future, due to its expanding population and strategic location in the Lower Mainland. The opening of the Golden Ears Bridge between Langley and Maple Ridge in the summer of 2009 will add to this growth. The Times is proud to serve a community that is growing, vibrant and looking towards a bright future.
